Pisciottanos welcome twins

By TAYLOR BROWN, Senior Reporter

Oliver and Gwendolyn were born Oct. 28.

State Sen. Nick Pisciottano (D-Allegheny) and his wife, Molly, are celebrating the arrival of their newborn twins, Oliver Thomas and Gwendolyn Rose.

The twins were born Oct. 28 at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Oliver arrived at 4:11 p.m., weighing 5 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches.

Gwendolyn followed at 4:13 p.m., weighing 4 pounds 13 ounces and measuring 17 inches.

Both babies and their mother are reported to be healthy and doing well.

“Molly, Nico and I were blessed to add Oliver Thomas and Gwendolyn Rose to our family this week,” Sen. Pisciottano shared on social media. “Mom and babies are healthy, happy, and doing well. We are very grateful for the skill and compassion of doctors, nurses, advanced practitioners, and many others at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital for their invaluable assistance safely bringing our twins into the world.”

The Pisciottanos also extended heartfelt thanks to the hospital’s medical team, praising their professionalism and care.

“The exceptional doctors, nurses, and staff at Magee- Womens Hospital make miracles seem routine,” said the senator. “We’re incredibly thankful for their knowledge, skill, and compassion.”

The couple’s 4-year-old son, Nico, is thrilled to take on his new role as big brother.

As they settle into life as a family of five, the Pisciottanos kindly ask for privacy during this special time.

“We’re soaking in every moment with these two,” said Pisciottano said. “Thank you for your kind wishes and prayers. We can’t wait for our twins to meet the community that already loves them.”

Pisciottano represents Pennsylvania’s 38th Senatorial District, which includes communities across Allegheny County such as Baldwin, Brentwood, Dravosburg, Glassport, Homestead, Jefferson Hills, Munhall, Pleasant Hills, West Mifflin, Whitehall, and surrounding areas.

Pisciottano will take parental leave to support Molly and the babies. His district and Capitol offices remain open and accessible to constituents.
