Ross W. Garrett, 66, of New Eagle, passed away on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 14, 1956, in New Eagle, he was the son of the late Earl “Tex” and Jane Koch Garrett. Ross was a 1974 graduate of Monongahela High School and was a member of the Arroas Haymakers and Hoot Owls clubs in New Eagle and the Slovak Club in Monongahela. He enjoyed watching his Pittsburgh sports teams and could be found grilling out at home listening to a Pirates game on the radio. Ross worked for the Laborers’ Union, retiring in 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Jodi Bennett-Alberts; three brothers, Rodney Garrett of New Eagle, David “Dee” Garrett and fiancée Audrey Zavarello of New Eagle, and Bo and Felicia Garrett of Monongahela; two nephews, R.J. and Joseph Garrett; and four nieces, Jennifer (Scott) Barkby, Jessica (Matthew) Willis, Julie (Ryan) Gaidos and Jillian (Justin) Pomponio; along with several great- nephews and great-nieces.
