William ‘Will’ ‘Mick’ Falappi – Monongahela

William “Will” “Mick” Falappi, 64, of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital with his loving wife by his side. He was born Dec. 23, 1957, in North Charleroi, son of the late William Falappi and Joan Aglio Falappi, who survives and resides in Monongahela. William was a 1976 graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Penn State University. He retired from PennDOT as a transportation construction inspector supervisor with 34 years of employment. Years ago, he ran a group for Catholic singles in the South Hills called Amici. He loved writing letters to the editor and reading. William enjoyed spending time with his son, Mickey, who was his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Martin Falappi, with whom he celebrated 26 years of marriage on April 20, 2022; son, Michael “Mickey” Falappi of Monongahela; brother, Mark and wife Dana Falappi of Peters Township; and two nieces, Stephanie and Marci. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish with the Rev. Kevin Dominik as celebrant. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 772 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA, 15063. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
