Michaelene G. “Micki” Campana, 88, of Monessen, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital following a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born on May 8, 1934, in Monessen, daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Scalise Garofalo. Micki was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1952 graduate of Monessen High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education in 1956 from California State Teachers College. She was a longtime member of the Beta Sigma Phi social sorority where she held several offices. Micki was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Monessen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ronald W. “Bones” Campana, in 2021; her son, Christopher, in 2014; and by a brother, Joseph Garofalo, in 1957. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald J. and Luanne Campana of Uxbridge, Mass.; three grandchildren, Nicole Campana of Boston, Mass.; Dominic Campana and wife Amanda Brennan of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Brian Campana and wife Jessica of Uxbridge, Mass.; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was excitedly looking forward to the arrival of her first two great-grandchildren this summer. Micki was lovingly cared for by many special people over the years, but especially Robert Zupan and Kim Tonini, to whom Micki’s family is forever grateful. To honor Mrs. Campana’s request, there will be no public visitation. Friends and family are invited to celebrate a 10 a.m. funeral Mass on Monday June 27, 2022, at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen, with Father Michael J. Crookston officiating, followed by graveside committal prayers in Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Campana’s name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.
