Fire strikes Glassport home

High winds caused flames to spread to two other nearby structures.

Firefighters battled heavy flames and smoke at a Glassport home Friday morning.

The fire originated at 802 Ohio Ave., and winds caused it to spread to two other buildings.

Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 11 a.m., and crews continued to battle the blaze after 12:30 p.m.

Interior crews stretched a hose line into the structure and were faced with heavy fire, and a second alarm was sounded.

Utility companies and the Allegheny County fire marshal were at the scene while the investigation continues.

No injuries were reported as of press time.
