The race for the hotly contested seat was still up for grabs as of press time.

Republican David Mc-Cormick held an edge over Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Bob Casey late Tuesday night, but the rivals were locked in a tight battle as of press time, and the race for the hotly contested seat remained up for grabs.

With slightly more than half the votes tallied in dozens of Pennsylvania counties, Mc-Cormick led Casey by 74,253 votes as of midnight, according to unofficial results.
