Former Glassport mayor Keith DiMarco accepted a three-year protection from abuse order in court after multiple arrests for v iol a t ing the order, which proh ibited him from contacting his wife and stepdaughter, according to news partner WTAE-TV.
“We had a hearing today. At the hearing, he accepted a three-year PFA with no admission of any kind of guilt whatsoever,” DiMarco’s attorney, Sean Logue, said Tuesday.
The PFA order stems from DiMarco’s original arrest earlier this month when Glassport police and Allegheny County police discovered small cameras inside the bathroom of his home. Two charges of invasion of privacy were filed, and a PFA was granted.
Shortly after, DiMarco violated the order.
“Unfortunately, there was some de minimis contact following the arrest. However, all of that has now been straightened out,” Logue said.
On Saturday, DiMarco was arrested again for violating the PFA.
In court Tuesday morning, DiMarco accepted the threeyear PFA, and in return, the petitioner withdrew the indirect criminal contempt charges.
“The petitioner withdrew the ICC charges, so all the ICCs are gone. Those are off his record. He’s not exposed to those anymore, but now there’s a PFA in place,” Logue said. ICC, or indirect criminal contempt, is a misdemeanor charge for violating PFAs and carries potential jail time. These charges against DiMarco have been dismissed.
“He’s a very nice guy, and he was a pillar of the community, and it’s just an unfortunate matter, and he can’t wait to get past this thing and move on with his life,” Logue said.
DiMarco is scheduled to return to court for his preliminary hearing on Sept. 16.
