Pearl Roman – New Eagle
Pearl Roman, 92, of New Eagle, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Gallatin, daughter of Andrew and Annie Fransko Roman. Pearl was a 1949 graduate of Monongahela High School. She was employed as a secretary for the U.S. Air Force and a private secretary for Brigadier General Charles “Chuck” Yeager. She lived in Alabama for over 50 years, where she had a ceramic shop and enjoyed pottery making. Pearl loved traveling with her sisters and going to the casino. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Maurice “Tinker” Lyons, Clark Roman, Harry Kelly, Andrew Roman, Ron Roman, Pete Roman, Michael Roman, Candace Roman, Keith Roman, Gloria Jean Lyons, Denise Iuni and Andrew “Rick” Kruki; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Alexander, Andrew “Ace” Jr., Peter, John “Boots” Homer, Helen and Mary Roman, Jean Sickman, Ann Kelly and Margaret Lyons; and a nephew, Albert Sickman Jr. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held at noon with the Rev. Kevin Dominik officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
