Velma Jean Fine – Monongahela

Velma Jean Fine, 90, of Monongahela, Forward Township, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at Victoria House in Monessen. She was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Lock Four, daughter of Norman Lenhart and Julia Jones Lenhart Smith. Velma was a member of Ella Hollow Bible Church, a former Sunday school teacher and attended their Wednesday morning Bible study. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, canning, gardening and especially loved taking care of her house plants. She is survived by three sons, Richard Fine and wife Darlene of Elizabeth Township,  Edward Fine of New Eagle, and Mickey Fine and Sherry Mizwa of Eldora; daughter, Crystal Loera and husband Dan of Salem, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Lenhart and wife Kristi of Millersville, Md.; and sister, Diana Smalden of Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Fine; son, Clarence Fine; brothers, Norman, Robert and Jefferey Lenhart; and a sister, Norma May Lenhart, who died in infancy. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery Elizabeth. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
