Summer on Main Block Party returns Thursday to downtown Monongahela

The event is being organized by the Women in Business of Monongahela.

For the MVI

Main Street in Monongahela will once again come alive with music, shopping, food and family-friendly entertainment during the Summer on Main Block Party set for 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Organized by the Women in Business of Monongahela, the event is designed to celebrate local businesses while creating a welcoming and lively atmosphere in downtown Monongahela. Visitors are encouraged to shop throughout the downtown business district while enjoying food vendors, coffee, crafts, entertainment, and activities for all ages.

Families attending the event can expect a variety of kid-friendly attractions, including face painting by Busy Bee’s, a bounce house, and touch-a-truck activities that will allow children to explore fire trucks and EMS vehicles up close.

The evening will also feature live music performances from student bands Two Early and Little Birdi3, along with performances by The Bartlow Brothers Band.

Animal lovers will have the opportunity to meet adoptable rescue cats from Cali Cats Rescue during the event, helping connect local animals in need with potential forever homes.

“Summer on Main is about bringing people together while showcasing everything our downtown businesses have to offer,” said Amanda Altamare of 1837 Botanicals. “We want families, residents and visitors to come out, enjoy a fun evening in Monongahela, shop local and experience the energy and momentum happening throughout our downtown.”

Organizers say the Summer on Main Block Party continues to grow as a community event that not only brings residents and visitors together, but also highlights the importance of supporting small businesses and creating activity in downtown Monongahela throughout the summer season.

Additional Summer on Main Block Parties are scheduled for July 9 and Aug. 13. The July event will feature music sponsored by cfsbank.

Community members are encouraged to visit Monongahela, explore local shops, enjoy live entertainment and experience an evening centered around community connection and small business support.
