David J. Sands, 64 of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born July 15, 1957, in Charleroi, son of Oscar Sands and Carolyn Coletta Sands. David was a devoted and loving son who cared for his mom for many years through a lengthy illness. He was and always remained the best “little brother” anyone could ask for! He was the most amazing uncle and great uncle EVER. He found the love of his life from across the world….Brazil…with whom he celebrated 21 blissful years of marriage. Andreia brought so much well-deserved joy into his life. He was the life of the party and his smile lit up the room. He always had a positive approach to each and every situation. He is survived by his wife, Andreia Sands; sister, Barbara Zucconi and husband Homer of Rostraver Township; niece, Jennifer Long and husband Jonathan of Belle Vernon; niece, Leslie Cubellis and husband Joe of Belle Vernon; father and mother-in-law, Gabriel and Maria Gonzaga of Brazil; Andreia’s siblings: Elisabete Gonzaga, Elcio Gonzaga, Elisete Gonzaga dos Santos, Eleide Gonzaga Beneguini, Edileusa Gonzaga, Aline Gonzaga and Anelise Gonzaga Batists; great-niece, Carina Cubellis; and great-nephew, Joey Cubellis. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Gabriel Gonzaga.
