Fire destroyed a vacant house in Elizabeth Township early Thursday.
According to acting Police Chief Adam Blake, the Allegheny County Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the blaze.
“The house was a complete loss,” Blake said. “It was vacant, but it wasn’t abandoned. The electricity was still turned on.”
According to Elizabeth Township Fire Department Public Information Officer Jim Chabalie, the first crews on the scene at 3:50 a.m. found heavy flames already engulfing the building.
“The fire crews on the scene found the fire well involved,” he said. “The fire was through the roof and all four walls were involved.”
