Betty J. Kaler, 86, of Irwin, died on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021. She was born in McKeesport on June 29, 1934 and is the daughter of the late William and Regina Smith Kaler. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School in McKeesport, was a secretary at G.C. Murphy Company and later was employed as the executive secretary for the vice president of Three Rivers Bank. She was a member of the Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church. One of her greatest joys was attending symphonies and operas in Pittsburgh. Betty is survived by sisters, Donna Milslagle of Meriden, Conn., and Connie (Terry) Casteel of Irwin; nephews, Bob, Bill, Glenn and Greg Milslagle and Randy Gooch; nieces, Renee Gooch and Shannon Galloway; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Zachary, Joey, Bradley, Kyle, Alex, Nicholas, Haylee, Riley and Briella. Family and friends will gather at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177, on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, from 10 a.m. until a blessing service at noon in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater PA Chapter, 2835 E. Carson St., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
