For several families in the Elizabeth Forward area, hearing a police officer knocking on their door was a welcome sound this week as Forward Township officers delivered everything needed for a holiday meal.

Forward Township Police Chief Travis Stoffer said providing Thanksgiving food for families in the area is something his family has been doing since he became chief, which has extended to the police department.

“What is Thanksgiving? We’re giving back. My goal is there should be nobody within my township that doesn’t have a Thanksgiving meal,” Stoffer said. “It’s about all of us who were able to work and make money and stay normal during all of this to give back to those who weren’t able.”
