Kathleen D. Gillespie, 73, of Monongahela, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Irvine DeSimone, she was born in McKeesport on March 11, 1947. Kathleen had been a resident of Monongahela since 1989. She had been employed by U.S. Steel at the former tube mill in McKeesport and as a registered nurse at Havencrest for more than 20 years. She was an avid gardener and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her devoted and beloved husband of 31 years, Donald Gillespie; two daughters and a son-in-law, Constance Grubesky of Pittsburgh and Ann and David Doty Jr. of Monongahela; a son, Michael Grubesky; a sister and brother in-law, Elizabeth and John Guy of West Newton; a brother and sister in-law, Thomas and Stephanie DeSimone of Aliquippa; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There will be no public visitation or services.
