Margaret “Margie” Mayernik, 67, of Monessen, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, in Mercy Health, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio. She was born on April 18, 1952, in North Charleroi, the daughter of the late John and Margaret Prokopovitch Mayernik. Margie was a 1970 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church. She worked as a coal miner at Murray Coal Mines and Mine 84 for Consol Energy. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Malster; two sons, Jonathan (Marie) Mayernik and Justin (Ashley) Mayernik; three brothers, Stevie Mayernik, John Mayernik and Ricky Mayernik; three sisters, Rosie (Jack) Fleming, Patty (Andrew) Mizerak and Mary (Carl) Clingenpeel; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Booker. Friends will be received in DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday. Services will be held Monday beginning with a 10 a.m. Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
