Darrell A. Groves, 70, of Brownsville, died Wednesday Oct. 16, 2019, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born in Brownsville on March 2, 1949, he was a son of the late Fred A. Groves Sr. and Eva M. Roberts Groves. Darrell was a 1967 graduate of Brownsville Area High School. He was retired after 39 years of service with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport. Darrell is survived by his daughter, Paula Pivarnik of Donora; step-daughter, Amy Lane of Washington; step-son, William Lane of Bethel Park; a sister, Janice Smetanka of Fayette City; four grandchildren, Jacob Pivarnik, Ryan Groves, Jordan Lane and Morgan Groves; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Dupont Groves; his second wife, Cheryl Maxon Groves; a son-in-law, Jacob Pivarnik; a brother, Fred Groves Jr.; a sister, Nancy Lee Ritter; and step-sisters, Mary Frances Groves and Regina Umble.
