Robert S. DeBranski – Finleyville
Robert S. DeBranski, 90, of Finleyville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in Mt. Vernon of South Park. He was born Jan. 11, 1929, in McKees Rocks, son of the late John and Elizabeth Yuhas DeBranski. Robert was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Church in Monongahela. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was retired from Conrail, where he was a railroad/car inspector. After retirement he drove a school bus for the Ringgold School District. He loved bowling and was a member of the South Park Early Birds Bowling League. He is survived by his son, Joseph Robert and his wife Catherine DeBranski of South Park; daughters, Danielle DeBranski and her partner Caroline Hellwig of East Washington, Victoria and her husband William Hommey of Finleyville; four grandchildren, Adam Hommey, Amanda Hommey Tustin and Luke and Joshua DeBranski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Marflak DeBranski; three sisters, Marie, Peggy and Anne; and two brothers, Mike and Jay. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, with the Rev. Kevin Dominik as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township, with full military rites accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
