Get ready to make friends with a magic genie, take a magic carpet ride and hear about the excitement stirred up on Arabian nights at Mary of Nazareth Catholic School’s production of Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.”

The show opens at 7 p.m. today at Francis-McClure Elementary School’s auditorium, located at 500 Long Vue Drive, White Oak. There will be a second show at 7 p.m. Saturday. Pre-sale tickets cost $7 and are available by calling 412-672-2360 or by visiting the school’s main office at 1640 Fawcett Ave., White Oak. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.

Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.” is based on the 1992 Academy Award-winning film “Aladdin” and the 2014 hit Broadway show about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within.

Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of Princess Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character.
