Charleroi approves tax hike

For the first time in more than 20 years, there will be a tax increase in Charleroi.

During a special budget meeting Monday, council unanimously agreed to pass a $2.2 million budget that will require a .92-mill tax increase, bringing the millage from 5.33 to 6.25.
