In a spirited nod to one of football’s biggest annual events, Southwest Medical Centers in Bentleyville and Charleroi transformed NFL Draft Week into a celebration of community, wellness and team pride.

The week kicked off with a simple but engaging idea: patients scheduled for appointments received morning text messages inviting them to show up wearing their favorite NFL gear. The response exceeded expectations.
“People really embraced it,” said CEO Lori Spina. “We saw jerseys from across the league, and it brought a lot of energy into the offices.”
Patients and staff alike joined in the fun, posing for photos throughout the day. Many of those moments have been shared on the centers’ social media pages, highlighting the strong connection between providers and the community they serve.
The themed celebrations continued Tuesday when Dr. Kamlesh B. Gosai, M.D., introduced a special promotion for new Botox patients, offering treatments at a rare rate of $8 per unit. The event drew significant interest from patients curious about aesthetic services in a welcoming, low-pressure setting.
On Wednesday, the focus shifted to wellness and preventive care. New weight management patients were offered GLP-1 injections at a promotional rate of $99 per syringe, encouraging individuals to explore medically supervised options for improving their health.
The week culminated Thursday with a lively tailgate party at the Charleroi medical center. First responders, patients and community members gathered to enjoy complimentary hot dogs and hamburgers in a relaxed, festive atmosphere. The event served as both a thank you to local heroes and an opportunity to bring people together outside of the traditional clinical setting.
To cap off the week, staff members gathered for a memorable group photo, ending the celebration with a lighthearted moment as a jug of water was playfully dumped over Gosai’s head — a fitting finale to a week defined by camaraderie and fun.
Organizers say the goal of the initiative was to create a welcoming environment while encouraging patient engagement and promoting available services.
“Health care doesn’t always have to feel clinical,” Spina noted. “This was about connecting with our patients and community in a way that’s fun, approachable and meaningful.”
With strong participation and positive feedback, Southwest Medical Centers say they hope to continue finding creative ways to blend community events with healthcare outreach in the future.
