Two more people are facing charges in connection with a shooting last year in Monessen that left one of the suspects hurt.

Brendon Redden, 27, of Pittsburgh, was arraigned last week on attempted homicide, conspiracy, aggravated assault and related offenses. City police said he was shot in an exchange of gunfire with Jay Din R. Eleam, 22, of Brownsville, at a home on Leeds Avenue on March 27, 2025.

Eleam was arrested the next day after a five-hour standoff with police, according to court papers. He is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and related offenses in connection with the shooting.

Monessen police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between Eleam and Kaytin I. Ward, 22, of Forest Hills, over their child, according to court papers. Ward was driven to Leeds Avenue around 11 p.m. March 27, 2025, by Redden, her boyfriend.

Police said Redden and Eleam exchanged gunfire. Redden was struck and Ward told investigators she drove him to a hospital. Police said there were two bullet holes in the windows of the car.

Eleam was not hurt. Ward was arrested Monday on charges of attempted homicide, conspiracy, aggravated assault and related offenses. Her preliminary hearing is set for April 10. She was being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing for Redden is scheduled for May 15. He is free on $20,000 unsecured bail. Neither Redden nor Ward had attorneys listed in court records.

Eleam has a pretrial hearing set for April 7. He remains at the Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 bail.
