GENERAL ELECTION 2025 RESULTS

Amy Cline wins in Forward Township

By TAYLOR BROWN, Senior Reporter

Amy Cline defeated Thomas D. Prentice Jr. for the six-year term as a township supervisor.

Amy Cline has turned her interim appointment into a full six-year term on the Forward Township Board of Supervisors.

Cline

Cline, a Republican and longtime public service advocate, defeated Democrat Thomas D. Prentice Jr. in Tuesday’s general election, according to unofficial results from the Allegheny County Elections Division.

Cline received 462 votes (51.39%) to Prentice’s 424 (47.16%), with 100% of precincts reporting.

Thirteen write-in votes were cast, accounting for about 1.45% of the total. She was appointed to the board in April to fill a vacancy left by former supervisor Dave Magiske.

Cline, after deciding to run for a fully elected term, campaigned on a platform focused on fiscal responsibility, conservation and transparency in local government.

Cline’s background includes 16 years in nonprofit fundraising and volunteer management with The Cleveland Orchestra. She also serves on the Steel Rivers Council of Governments and the Allegheny County Conservation District board. Throughout her campaign, she emphasized keeping taxes low, preserving farmland and rural character, and improving communication between township officials and residents.

Prentice, a farmer and site development contractor, brought decades of hands-on experience to the race and emphasized unity, transparency and collaboration.

Cline will now begin a full six-year term as one of the township’s decision-makers, helping guide policies that affect roads, land use, budgeting and more.

Neither Cline nor Prentice responded to requests for comment prior to press time.

Election results are considered unofficial until they are reviewed and certified by the county election bureau.
