CELEBRATING THE PAST AT THE MCKEESPORT REGIONAL HISTORY & HERITAGE CENTER

The McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center hosted its grand reopening this weekend where a brand-new 3,500 square foot exhibit space was unveiled. During the celebration, organizers welcomed museum volunteers Lindi and Ron Kendal as they stood beside Lindi’s elegant honeymoon suit from their 1960 wedding, generously donated to their collection. Ron’s sharp wedding suit was purchased from Henry B. Klein, a beloved McKeesport clothing store of the era. New displays at the museum in Renziehausen Park place historic McKeesport items in their original settings, such as this area (shown at right) representing a typical 1930s home. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, go to mckeesportheritage.org and on social media.
