Math and reading curriculum changes sought in Monessen

Two district officials made an appeal to the school board Tuesday evening.

The elementary school principal and special education director proposed new K-5 math and reading curriculums at Tuesday’s Monessen school board meeting.

Monessen Elementary Center Principal Eric Manko and Dr. Christy DeCarlo, director of special education/ student services, broke down the benefits of implementing up-to-date reading and math curriculums at MEC before the school board.
