The City of McKeesport officially transferred its ownership of the property at 901 Ravine St., which serves as the home of the LaRosa Youth Club, to the LaRosa Youth Development Foundation.
“This is the culmination of getting the boys club building back from the Western Pennsylvania Boys & Girls Club (donating) it back to the city,” Solicitor Jason Elash said.
Mayor Michael Cherepko explained that Boys & Girls Club specified, per its agreement with the city, that the property must be transferred to the LaRosa Youth Development.
“So that’s why as a city, we can transfer it right over without going to the redevelopment authority,” Cherepko said. “We don’t even have a right under the original agreement if we were to sell or use it for something else, they could actually come back after the building and retain it.”
