Cheryl A. Theakston Church, 66, of Monessen, formerly of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley in Carroll Township. Born April 14, 1957, in North Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Sheridan Theakston and Mary Davis Theakston Heilman and stepfather, Frank Heilman. A resident of Monessen for the past 19 years, Mrs. Church was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord in Monessen. She was a retired certified nursing assistant from Mon Valley Hospital. Cheryl’s greatest joy and passion was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She valued the goodness of life and had deep care and love for everyone. She had many dogs throughout her life that she enjoyed spoiling, including her grand-doggies. Of all her qualities, she was best known for her love. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ray Church; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Mark DiEugenio of Monessen; daughter, Ra’Shanna Church and Jeston Hall of Monessen; and three grandchildren, Raymond DiEugenio, Rae’na DiEugenio and Rosa’Liyah Hall. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Lorenzo. Private family funeral services with the Rev. Michael Crookston will be followed by interment at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Cheryl’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183.
