Louis Robert ‘Louie’ Zetko – Roscoe

By obits

Louis Robert “Louie” Zetko, 70, of Roscoe, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 18, 2023. He was born Feb. 19, 1953, in Charleroi, to Olive and Louis Zetko. Louie is survived by niece and nephew, Natalie and Chad Marsland; great-niece and great-nephew, Katie Nield and Joe Marsland; brother-in-law, Charles Marsland; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Louie was predeceased by his mother, Olive Zetko; father, Louis “Harpo” Zetko; and sister, Jeanne Marsland. Louie worked at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, Allenport Works, until it closed and then joined IPSCO in Roscoe, from which he retired. An avid sports fan, Louie, followed all of the Pittsburgh sports teams and regularly traveled to away games to cheer on the Steelers and have a few beers. A life member of the Slovak Beneficial Society of Roscoe and the California Young Men’s Club, Louie could be found sitting quietly enjoying a beer. Louie was a simple, hard-working, blue-collar man, the epitome of the Mon Valley, where he was born, raised, lived and died. There will be a memorial at the Slovak Beneficial Society of Roscoe with the date and time to be determined. If you can’t make it, honor Louie the way he would approve of, have a cold beer and just enjoy the time. Arrangements have been entrusted to MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., Roscoe. Online condolences may be expressed at www.melenyzer.com.
