Harry Joseph “Joe” Elliott Sr., 73, of Speers passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, in his home. A son of the late Robert P. and Sarah Madaline Bedillion Elliott, he was born in Washington on Oct. 10, 1949. A resident of the Mon Valley since 1955, he was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran serving near North Vietnam, Dong Ha. Harry is survived by a daughter, Staci Jo Tedrow of Speers; a son, Harry Joseph Elliott Jr. and his fiancé Alaina Collins of Speers; a sister, Ella Louise Ailes of California; four sisters-in-law, Marlene Elliott of West Newton, Vickie (Jerry) Jones of Washington, June Bird of Plymouth, Mich., and Rebecca (Rich) Partozoti of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Melissa (Ty) Marks, Matt Tedrow (Chea Salazar), Harry Joseph Elliott III and Sophie Ann Elliott; and a great-grandson, Connor Marks. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Ann Elliott, on Sept. 24, 2014; a great-granddaughter, Cora Mae Marks, on Feb. 5, 2023; two sisters, Pearl Decker and Patricia Skolyak; and three brothers, Russell Bird, Robert Elliott and James Elliott. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2023, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. June 21, 2023, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating.
