Burt F. Whoolery, 70, of Glassport, died on Feb. 26, 2023, in Orlando, Fla., surrounded by his family. He was born on Sept. 29, 1952, in McKeesport and was the son of the late Milton and Antoinette Bazzone Whoolery and the husband of Rose (Case) Whoolery. Burt worked in construction his entire life and would always lend a hand to help family and friends with projects. In his early years, he loved to play beer league softball and was in a bowling league with his wife. Burt enjoyed shuffleboard, flea markets, drinking beer and smoking cigars. He would spend Sundays making Sunday dinner for his family, especially his famous spaghetti sauce. Burt belonged to Sons of the American Legion Post No. 447 Port Vue and was an 11th Ward Club McKeesport member. Burt is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Joy Nelson, Jamie (Brandon) Todd, Matthew Levdansky, Casey (Eric Mancz) Whoolery and Ashley (Haley) King; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Karen (Steve) Carroll, Connie Whoolery and Brad (Patricia) Whoolery; and his dogs, Darby Bane and Lexi Lynn. Family and friends will be received at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023. Visitation will continue from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2023, where stories will be shared with family and friends.
