By obits

Clarence N. Hines, 66, of Monessen, has gone on to be with the Lord on Nov. 8, 2022, at Penn Highland Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township. Clarence graduated from Sea Breeze High School in Daytona Beach, Fla., in 1969. After graduation, Clarence enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1974, where he served his country for six years and ranked with an honorable discharge as an E5. Clarence loved the Lord and was a member and deacon of Church of Jesus in Ormond Beach, Fla. Clarence was a diehard Steelers fan win, lose or draw and would argue until your ears fell off about his boys. Clarence was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Lee Hines of Ormond Beach, Fla.; father, Clarence Lee Hollis of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; brother, Wilmar Hines and sister, Janice Hines Reeves, both of Ormond Beach, Fla. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Cheryl Hines, and they lived in harmony together. Clarence has three sons, James Smith of Pittsburgh, Derrick Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev., and Monsae (Joycelin) McCall of Washington, Pa.; one daughter, Darcel (John) Alexander of Valdosta, Ga.; one sister, Jacqueline Hines of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a close friend and cousin, Bernard Bouie of Baltimore, Md., and his auntie he truly adored, Clarethia Hines of Daytona Beach, Fla. He has 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Clarence cherished his memories with his close friends, Shawn and Durell West-Scott, who called him “Cesar.” Clarence will sadly be missed by all of his family and friends. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen, with a funeral service starting at 7 p.m. with Bishop Karl Jackson officiating. Celebration of life has been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
