Dorothy Ann Brecht – Dunlevy, formerly of Daisytown

Dorothy Ann Brecht, 79, of Dunlevy, formerly of Daisytown, Clover Hill, died Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Clover Hill, daughter of the late John and Mary Melnik Bombalek. Mrs. Brecht was a 1961 graduate of California High School and a 1984 graduate of Douglas School of Business. For 15 years she was employed by California University of Pennsylvania in the accounts payable department, retiring in January 2005, and was a member of AFSCME, chapter 13, subchapter 8402. Mrs. Brecht was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. She was a member of the Center in the Woods senior center in California, Pa. She enjoyed cross stitching, gardening, baking and decorating cakes for family and friends, playing eight-ball pool and dancing to the oldies with her husband at the Center in the Woods. On July 24, 1965, she married David E. Brecht, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Deborah Lloyd of Daisytown, Edward Brecht of Dunlevy and Barbara Moore (Brian) of Ruffs Dale; two grandchildren, Christine and Celeste Lloyd; and one niece, Johanna Pardoe (Greg). Deceased in addition to her parents, is a sister, Delores Brecht. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services and visitation will be private. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. All funeral arrangements are under the direction of the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main St., Beallsville.
