Charles W. Figel, 92, of Monessen, passed away on April 5, 2022, in the Pittsburgh Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Pittsburgh. He was born in Monessen on Dec. 21, 1929, son of the late Nicholas and Maria Fedio Figel. Charles was Catholic by faith. He had been a steelworker prior to his retirement. He had honorably served his country in the United States Army. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Patti Figel Artim, Jackie Newman, Paul (Fred) Figel, Nancy Ruey, Jeffrey Figel, Mary Ann Josay, George Josay and Shirley Vaccaro; great-nieces, Tracy Amati and Shannon Amati; great-great-nephews, Michael and Nyzere Amati; great-great-niece, Giavonna Amati; and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike, Nick and Paul Figel; a sister, Ann Josay; and a nephew, Nickey Figel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery of Monessen.
