Richard Gonzales – formerly of Donora
Richard Gonzales, affectionately known as “Apples,” died on Feb. 15, 2022, in Boca Raton, Fla., at the age of 84. He was born and grew up in Donora, son of Manuel and Evelyn Todd Gonzales. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, RoseMarie; his four children, Gina Limes (Dale), Mona Aliseo (Joseph), John and Anne Gonzales and Anthony and Lisa Gonzales and their families; and his brother, Raymon of Ashburn, Va. He played football for Donora High School and attended Denver College on a football scholarship. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Richard worked in the rental car business for 26 years, owned and operated Tony’s Delite for four years and retired from the Sun Sentinel after 10 years. He was cremated by the Neptune Society. There will be a joint celebration of life for both Richard and Rose in the future at the time of her passing.
