Roseann Garwood – Ruffs Dale

Roseann Garwood, 73, of Ruffs Dale, died Sept. 1, 2021, at Frick Hospital. She was born April 21, 1948, in Key West, Fla. She was the wife of James Garwood, who survives. They were married for 54 years. Roseann is also survived by two children, Donald (Victoria) of McKeesport and Diana Kochman (David) of West Newton; and grandchildren, Jacob Garwood of Columbus, Ohio, and Michael and Rose Kochman of West Newton. Also surviving are her siblings, Sandy (George) Ghrist of McKeesport and Robert Harder of East Hickory; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Edward and Harold. Roseann was a graduate of McKeesport Area High School and the Community College of Allegheny County, where she earned an associate degree in nursing. She worked as a pediatric nurse at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. After retiring from nursing, she fulfilled a dream and started Garwood Christmas Farm with her husband. She took great joy in meeting and getting to know her customers. She shared her love of the holiday and its traditions with all who visited the farm. She was brave in the face of multiple serious illnesses and always continued to provide care, strength and love to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
