Edward T. Seeley Jr. – Carroll Township
Edward T. Seeley Jr., 81, of Carroll Township, was called home to the Lord’s Kingdom on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021. Born in Dormont on Feb. 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Edward T. Seeley Sr. and the late Mabel Virginia “Ginny” Claypool Seeley. Ed was an accomplished drummer in a jazz band for many years that always closed every set with the standard, “When the Saints Go Marching In.” A veteran, Mr. Seeley served with the Air National Guard as an air evacuation medical technician. He served as an elder of the Dormont Presbyterian Church. He was an avid reader, especially of mysteries. Mr. Seeley was a Pittsburgh Steelers season ticket holder for decades. His first date with his wife was to a Pittsburgh Steelers game in 1976. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Karen Seeley; and his two beloved canine companions, Wolfgang and Luger. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Sandra Warholic Seeley; two sons, Mark E. Seeley and Erik T. Seeley (fiancee), Ashlee Enriquez); daughter, Jessica L. Dempe (Brandon); two granddaughters, Aislynn Fitzgerald and Eliza Dempe; a sister, Elizabeth; and beloved German Shepherd, Zeus. As Satchmo would put it, “Ed’s now in that number, when the Saints go marching in.” Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021. A Funeral service will be held on Friday at noon in the funeral home with the Rev. Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Donora Public Library, 510 Meldon Ave., Donora, PA 15033, or to the Parkinson Foundation of Western PA, 575 Lincoln Ave., Suite 101, Bellevue, PA 15202, in Edward’s name.
