Melba Paperi Mitchell, 97, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Mon Valley Hospital, Monongahela. Born Aug. 29, 1923, in Belle Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Teresina Giononni Paperi. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon, Mrs. Mitchell was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Annita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon. She is survived by son, Richard Mitchell of Belle Vernon; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and George Magatz of Monessen; four grandchildren, Heather Mitchell, Eric (Maria) Mitchell, Prudence (Will) Pierce and Rick Mitchell; 11 great-grandchildren, Evan Mitchell, Arria Mitchell, Chloe Mitchell, Zander Mitchell, Austin Pierce, Tanner Pierce, Katelyn Pierce, Dominic Mitchell, Elana Mitchell, Zachary Rinestine and Alexander Rinestine; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Mitchell; son, Curtis L. Mitchell; brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Jennie Paperi; sister and brother-in-law, Olga and Albert Ceccarelli; and daughter-in-law, Susan Mitchell. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
