Frank Delia – Belle Vernon
Frank Delia, 102, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, in Country Care Manor. A son of the late Joseph and Filomenia DeFazio Delia, he was born in Mt. Sterling, Pa. on Jan. 1, 1918. Frank was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon, the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Frank was employed by the former American Window Glass Company of Belle Vernon and retired in 1983 from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company after 27 years of service. He served during World War II, U.S. Army, Technician 4th grade, serving in Europe where he received five bronze stars and was awarded the French Legion of Honor in November 2020. He was a 75-year member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. Survivors include one daughter, Linda J. Delia of Uniontown; and one son, Eugene F. Delia of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Brizzi Delia; two sisters, Mary Zeli and Rose Delia; and two brothers, James and Joseph Delia. Friends will be received 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com A blessing service will be in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Crookston, pastor, as celebrant. (Friends are asked to go directly to the church for the funeral Mass.) Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors to the funeral home are limited to 10 people at one time. Face masks and social distancing are required in the funeral home.
