Dorothy Jean Celaschi Litavec passed away on March 15, 2020, in Madison, Ala., at 87 years of age. She had been a resident of Madison for the last seven years. She was born on April 28, 1932, and resided in Charleroi for over 80 years. She was preceded in passing by her husband of 50 years, John F. Litavec. She was a graduate of Charleroi High School and retired from Pittsburgh National Bank, where she worked for many years. She was a longtime parishioner of Mother of Sorrows Church and then Mary Mother of the Church. She was a member of Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a longtime volunteer to support church fundraisers and the local food bank. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Louise Celaschi; and a brother, Lawrence Celaschi. She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Natalie) Litavec of Madison, Ala., and David (Andreja) Litavec of Cumming, Ga. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Autumn (Aaron) Crites of Alabaster, Ala., Jessica Litavec, Jordan Litavec and Jacob Litavec of Cumming, Ga., and Bianca Litavec, John Litavec and Elizabeth Litavec of Madison, Ala. Additionally, she had one great-grandchild, Anali Crites. She is also survived by two sisters, Gloria Zeli and Joyce Tonozzi. There will be no public visitation. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 20, in the chapel of Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family would especially like to thank the staff at Morningside of Madison for their loving care and support. Additionally, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Arrangements are entrusted to CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, Charleroi, Joseph A.
