You might see one or two fish — maybe a red one and a blue one; a cat wearing a hat who’s hanging out with two blue-haired creatures that can only be described as things; or a peculiar beast known as a Lorax at South Allegheny High School next week.
That’s because a cast of talented student actors, singers, musicians and stage crew members have been hard at work diving into Dr. Seuss’ “wubbulous world” for months preparing for the district’s spring musical, “Seussical,” under the direction of Dorothy Fallows, who studied musical theater at Point Park University’s Pittsburgh Playhouse and has more than 30 years experience acting, directing and producing shows at McKeesport Little Theater and other area theaters.
“Seussical” runs at 7 p.m. March 19 to 21 at and a matinee will be shown at 2 p.m. March 22.
Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for students.
Terri Mitchell, a speech therapist at South Allegheny, is the producer. She has worked with Fallows on South Allegheny musicals for nine years, and George Pecoraro is the director of music.
