Liberty borough council voted Wednesday to ratify ordinances setting the property tax and sewage rates for 2020.
Residents will not see a property tax increase this year.
The 2020 general fund budget is balanced at $1,082,790. The millage rate, which is the same as last year, is set at 7 mills plus a fire tax of 1 mills.
According to the Allegheny County Community Profile for Liberty borough, properties with a value of $100,000 will see a property/fire tax bill of around $800. Properties assessed at the median assessed value of $65,000 should see a property/fire tax bill of around $520. The fire tax will generate $76,850 in revenue.
The 2020 sewer fund budget is balanced at $540,000. Residents will not see an increase in sewage rates this year. Residents whose homes have meters will pay $11.50 per 1,000 gallons or any part thereof. All unmetered users will pay a flat rate of $152.20. All users — metered or unmetered — will see a $15 surcharge each quarter.
