Rostraver Township residents will have to wait until next summer to see changes for water- and mud-laden Tyrol Boulevard.
According to Commission Chairman Devin DeRienzo, PennDOT said there is “nothing they can do until next year some time.” PennDOT has plans for an engineer to begin workshopping at the beginning of 2020, he added, and will then move to advertise for bids. The agency is anticipating June or July as the start date for any work on the road.
“Everything is out of our hands,” he said.
DeRienzo said the board has contacted state Sen. Pat Stefano, R-Bullskin Township, state Rep. Justin Walsh, R-Rostraver Township, and U.S. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Peters Township, for assistance related to the road’s condition.
“They have all looked into the matter for us and are trying to come up with a better solution, but that’s all in PennDOT’s hands,” DeRienzo said.
