Over the last four seasons, the Serra Catholic boys soccer team has often been on the losing side of tilts with Greensburg Central Catholic.

The Eagles, who last defeated the Centurions in 2014, entered Tuesday night’s game having lost eight straight contests to their section foes.

Their struggles continued in their home opener as, despite a relatively solid defensive effort, the Eagles suffered a 4-0 loss to GCC in Section 2-A play.

It was Serra’s ninth consecutive loss and 27th in 32 all-time meetings with the Centurions (1-1, 1-0).
