Minor injuries reported in EF bus crash
The accident occurred at 2:30 Friday afternoon on Hayden Boulevard.
An Elizabeth Forward School District school bus was involved in a crash with another vehicle Friday afternoon.
The incident took place along Hayden Boulevard in Elizabeth at 2:30 p.m. Around 35 high school students were on the bus, according to Elizabeth Forward Superintendent Keith Konyk.
Konyk said none of the students experienced serious injuries.
“I am happy to report that there were only very minor injuries; however, the students were understandably shaken up by the accident,” Konyk said. “All students were safely picked up and transported home by another school bus.”
According to our news partners at WTAE, emergency dispatchers said one person was transported from the scene. Konyk had no information about the bus driver or the other vehicle involved in the crash.
An online post from the Elizabeth Township Police Department stated that Route 51 was temporarily closed after the incident. The road opened up later on Friday.
