Allegheny County will address homelessness and employment issues as part of the national program, the Pathways Forward Challenge.
The county has been chosen as one of seven jurisdictions to take part in the challenge, which is overseen by the Heartland Alliance’s National Initiatives on Poverty & Economic Opportunity.
The Allegheny County Department of Human Services and Partner4Work, the Pittsburgh area workforce development board, announced the county’s selection Friday.
The challenge is meant to more effectively and equitably connect homeless and unstably housed job seekers with employment.
