Annual Glenn Edward Porter III memorial golf outing held

Friends, family members and volunteers gathered before the start of Monday’s Glenn Edward Porter III Memorial Golf Outing at Nemacolin Country Club in Beallsville. Among those pictured are parents Laurie and Eric Porter, third from left in back row, along with family members Steve Flack, Tracie Flack, Stacey Lee, Savannah Lee and Addie Flack. The golf outing is a fundraiser for the GEP3 Scholarship Foundation, which was set up in memory of Glenn, 20, who was tragically killed in an auto accident June 23, 2023. He had just graduated from the police academy and accepted a full-time position with the California Borough Police Department, following in the footsteps of his father, a former police chief and current municipal judge in Charleroi. Jeff Helsel / Mon Valley Independent
