Area stars highlight All-Section 3-4A

Twenty three players representing four local teams were named to the All-Section 3-4A team Thursday.
Belle Vernon Area, Elizabeth Forward and Ringgold each had seven players recognized while McKeesport had two honorees.
For the second consecutive year, shortstop Josh Hoffman was the lone Leopard selected to the first team. The Youngstown State recruit led BVA with a .441 batting average, 15 RBIs, 18 runs scored and 22 stolen bases.
“Honestly, it means more to me that I had the opportunity to share it with my teammates,” Hoffman said. “They all worked so hard to be where they were and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They deserve it and I’m happier for them. It’s always cool to go out like that but that isn’t what was most important.”
