New plans have been unveiled for the Mon/Fayette Expressway thanks in part to a local legislator.
State Rep. Mike Puskaric R-Allegheny/Washington announced Wednesday that he has been closely working with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to connect the Mon/Fayette Expressway to the Route 885 corridor.
The plans will focus on a nearly 3-mile stretch of highway starting from the proposed MFE interchange near the county airport and connect to the Route 885 corridor.
At the beginning, the Mon/Fayette expressway was intended to connect directly to the City of Pittsburgh.
