Clifford E. Winbush Jr. – Monongahela

Clifford E. Winbush Jr., 90, Monongahela, died Friday, April 5, 2019, at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth. He was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Monongahela, son of Clifford E. and Helen Gladys Wouldridge Winbush.​ Clifford attended Waverly school in Monongahela and the District of Columbia public schools, graduating from Armstrong Technical High School in 1947. At age 13, he became a Boy Scout and later became an adult leader, serving as assistant scoutmaster, scoutmaster, explorer advisor, assistant cub master, second time scoutmaster, troop committee person and earned the Statuette and Silver Beaver awards. He also was involved and became a camping advisor in the Girl Scouts alongside his wife, Harriet, who was also active with the Girl Scouts. Clifford was employed by Kennywood Park Inc., in West Mifflin, retiring as a department supervisor with 27 years of employment. His hobbies included gardening, photography, woodworking, electronics, pastel painting, repairing cast-off items of all sorts, music, any kind of home repair and genealogy. He also enjoyed belonging to the local organ club, which would go to the various nursing and personal care homes in the area to play music.​ He is survived by two daughters, Jeanine Robinson and her husband Darrell of Baldwin and Marilyn Jones of Monongahela; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, the Rev. Allen Winbush and wife Melrene of St. Louis, Mo.​ In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Jefferson Winbush, who died Feb. 28, 2006; and three sons, Paul, Aaron and Clifford E. Winbush III.​ At the request of Clifford, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Inurnment will be private and in the Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
