A year after going through ups and downs with a young core of players, Elizabeth Forward head coach Frank Champ has loftier expectations than previous seasons.
Entering his 14th season, the veteran skipper is at the helm of a squad with more experience than last year. EF’s roster consists of two freshmen, one sophomore, a whopping 10 juniors and a trio of seniors.
“I think we have higher expectations this season. This year we’re a year older and little bit more mature, and I think we have been seeing that,” Champ said. “We try to emphasize to them that we need to get stronger as a team and a lot of them have done that … I think they’re starting to realize that if they do their jobs we can put together a pretty good season.”
